On Saturday, RGPV dean student welfare (DSW) Anil Goyal said he found discrepancies in the statement of the victim Rohit Sharma. The college had informed DSW that Rohit had not attended the college on August 27 when the incident occurred. Even CCTV footage of didn’t show Rohit entering or leaving college and Rohit also failed to identify the culprits.

Rohit’s father Dharshan Lal Sharma said the college administration didn’t show any CCTV footage to them. "Instead of taking responsibility of the incident, they are diluting the matter. He said the photographs of students shown to my son for identification of the accused were two-year-old and college is trying to save its image rather than punishing the accused," he added.
