Bhopal student Varad Puntambekar scores AIR-15 in AIIMS entrance examination

Varad Puntambekar of Bhopal scored All India Rank-15 in All India Institute Medical Sciences (AIIMS) entrance exam 2015, the results of which were declared on Thursday.

Varad Puntambekar of Bhopal scored All India Rank-15 in All India Institute Medical Sciences (AIIMS) entrance exam 2015, the results of which were declared on Thursday.

Varad, a student of Delhi Public School stood first in the state capital.

According to information collected through various coaching and educational institutes, over 15 students from Bhopal managed to secure good rankings.

“My main focus was to crack the AIIMS entrance. I solved papers of past 21 years. Not only this, I also solved frequently asked questions from the previous entrance exams,” said Varad, while talking to HT.

Varad is the son of businessman Ajay Puntambekar, while his mother, Kshama Puntambekar, is an assistant professor at School of Planning and Architecture.

Varad scored 92.4% in class 12th board exams this year.

“I would suggest the future aspirants of AIIMS to focus on those subjects which they don’t like. Those subjects which they feel are interesting may waste their time,” said Varad.

Another student from the city, Sampriti Agarwal scored AIR-25. Sampriti said her main goal was to secure a seat in AIIMS Delhi.

Nikhil Agarwal, another topper who scored AIR-4,000 last year in AIIMS entrance scored 264th rank this year.

“I want to study in AIIMS Bhopal and I think I will be able to get a seat in it with this rank,” said Nikhil.
