Congress on Saturday strongly criticised the state government for not inviting the leaders of the opposition for the state's foundation day event. Pradesh Congress Committtee (PCC) chief Arun Yadav said none of the Congress leaders were invited and it shows how the government has turned state's foundation day into a BJP event.

"The BJP has pushed the future of lakhs of youth of the state into darkness, as meritorious students couldn't get jobs due to recruitment scams during the past decade," said Yadav.

Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Satyadev Katare said the state government can't be run like the BJP's private company. "Leaders from all parties should have been invited, made members of organising committee, whose chief could be from BJP. However, they made it a function exclusive for BJP," he said.

Katare said that state government should have been large-hearted as the state foundation day programme is not a party affair. "None of us were formally invited. The public funds are being used for a party show," Katare said, adding that the BJP is scared due to Congress' active campaign on PEB scam.
