BMC sets up emergency control rooms

The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has set up emergency control rooms at headquarters and zone levels to deal with any situations arising out of heavy rain.

The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has set up emergency control rooms at headquarters and zone levels to deal with any situations arising out of heavy rain. Officials have been delegated responsibility of these control rooms that would function 24X7.

The main control room would function at the fire brigade headquarters at Fatehgarh.

Apart from this, the BMC call centre would also receive complaints related to rain, waterlogging and flooding. Control room has also been set up at the central workshop, Mata Mandir and all the 14 zone offices.

The BMC commissioner Vishesh Garhpale has directed all the officials and staff of the BMC to provide immediate relief to the citizens in case of heavy rain, thunderstorm or flooding.

He has also said that if trees fall on road, they should be immediately cleared off to ensure smooth traffic.
