According to sources, the CBI team which includes two senior officers has been carrying out raids at the probable hideouts of Totlani in Bhopal and its surrounding areas for the past three days. A non-bailable warrant has been issued by the court against Totlani.

Sources further said the CBI may soon initiate proceedings to get Totlani declared as an absconder, if he doesn’t surrender before CBI. A few friends and business partners of Totlani were quizzed about his whereabouts but CBI has not been able to get any clue about him so far. It is believed that Totlani has left the city and is hiding in some surrounding area of the city.

Totlani is accused of providing bribery money to Godha brothers (Puneet Godha, a builder and Vineet Godha, a lawyer and former spokesperson of State Congress Committee) through Hawala racket.

The Godha brothers had taken bribery money from two private firms at the behest of their brother-in-law SK Jain, chief managing director of Syndicate Bank, Bangalore, for allegedly increasing the load credit limits of the private firms.
