The displaced people from these dams attracted the attention of the government and the people of Bhopal towards their demands.

The peasants of Narmada valley demanded that farmers be given land in place of their submerged land and all farmers be given at least 5 acres of land or the government helps them in finding and purchasing land.

A delegation of Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA) met the Narmada Valley Development minister Kanhaiyalal Agarwal and apprised him of the demands of the affected people. The delegation emphasised that the government should take concrete decisions on all the demands. Ajay Mehta of Jan Abhiyan Parishad accompanied the delegation for this meeting.

The Narmada Jeevan Adhikar Satyagraha and Upvaas entered its third day and the fast of the four Narmada dam affected people and Alok Agrawal continued.

The affected people will take part in a rally on Monday which will start at 11am from Neelam Park and converge into a demonstration at Narmada Bhavan.
