Urban development minister Kamal Nath on Thursday while speaking at a public function in Seoni said that farmers, women and youth are all disappointed with the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government.
Development in the state has come to a standstill and law and order has collapsed.
A fracas broke out between Congress and BJP workers when the latter tried to show black flags to the union minister. The situation was brought under control when senior Congress leaders intervened in the matter, said a release from the Congress.
As per the release, the union minister said that the central government has been generously giving funds to the state government but the state government is putting its stamp on central schemes and claiming them as their own.
He said that there is rampant corruption in central schemes but Congressmen will now ensure that this does not continue. He also announced the giving of Rs 100 crore for various schemes to the Seoni nagar palika and Barghat and Lakhandon nagar panchayats.
Late Harvansh Singh’s son Rajnish Singh also joined the programme with numerous workers. PCC president Kantilal Bhuria, said that the mining mafia has become very powerful during the present government. He said that farmers are suffering as fertilisers are being adulterated and poor people are getting inferior quality food grains.
