Speaking to media persons, the chief minister said that learning about Kalam’s life would inspire students to achieve their goals and make them ideal citizens.

“Kalam’s death has created a void and irreparable loss that can’t be filled,” he said, adding that the former President was a source of inspiration to him.

Chouhan also took to his official blog to eulogise the great scientist and visionary. “Dr Kalam embodied Indian values in the true sense. He was a scientist par excellence, original thinker, serious spiritual seeker, poet, connoisseur of music, inspiring orator, able administrator, all rolled into one. Above all, he was full of human sensitivities,” the CM wrote in his blog.

He went on to say: “Whenever I met Dr Kalam, his simplicity and humility impressed me the most. He was an alter ego of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpaiyee. During the regime of Vajpaiyee ji, Dr Kalam was conferred with Bharat Ratna. He was also the President of India. This was a tribute of a grateful nation to his greatness. However, I believe that he was above all honours, awards and offices. I would endeavour to take a suitable step in near future to perpetuate the memories of Dr Kalam in Madhya Pradesh for the posterity.”

Chouhan mentioned that 11 points suggested by the former president for all round development of Madhya Pradesh hag helped a great deal in making MP the fastest growing state of the country.
