The corporation is expected to make some suggestions to the NGT on the draft proposal for recycling school textbooks and encouraging e-classrooms in the state.

The proposal aims to reduce the number of trees being cut for printing text books.

During a hearing of the case filed by Shrikant Kate on Tuesday, counsel for the state government Sachin Verma said the draft proposal was being analysed by the government.

Sachin Verma said the details of the draft policy and some suggestions would be provided by the managing director of Text Book Board of the state and the secretary of school education in the next hearing in the case on May 15.

He said both the officers were likely to suggest that recycling textbooks was not practical in all schools of the state, especially government schools.

The NGT had earlier directed the state government to consider the option of recycling textbooks and encourage e-classrooms and electronic blackboards.
