Maid arrested for stabbing woman in Bhopal

A 50-year-old woman was stabbed by her housemaid in a bid to rob the house. The woman, Shivkumari Shrivastava, got injured and was admitted to a hospital while the maid has been arrested.

A 50-year-old woman was stabbed by her housemaid in a bid to loot the house in Nishatpura on Thursday. The woman, Shivkumari Shrivastava, sustained serious injuries and was admitted to a local hospital in critical condition while the accused was arrested on the same day.

Shivkumari lives in Krishna Nagar along with her son Anurag Shrivastava (26), who works as driver at the Special Armed Force (SAF). According to the police, the victim was alone at her home when incident took place.

The housemaid and accused Sandhya Borasi came to the house and started work in the kitchen at about 11 am. When the victim went to the kitchen to talk to the housemaid, she threw chilly powder on the victim's face. The accused then forced the victim to open the lockers of the house.

The victim, however, mustered courage and pushed the housemaid down and ran to her room, shouting for help. The housemaid followed her to room and stabbed her from behind.

The woman, somehow, managed to reach the terrace of her house and shouted for help and became unconscious. Hearing the noise, the neighbours rushed her to a private hospital, where she was admitted in a critical condition. Superintendent of police (north) Arvind Saxena said one of the neighbhours had seen the housemaid running out of the victim's home.
