A special investigation team (SIT) investigating the alleged irregular appointments in the assembly secretariat between 1993 and 2003 is preparing a questionnaire for senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, one of the key accused in the case.
Besides Singh, who was the chief minister of the state when the scam allegedly took place, former assembly speaker Sriniwas Tiwari is also an accused in the scandal.
Singh has been asked to present himself before SIT on October 15 for questioning.
The questionnaire comprises 25 to 30 queries and these questions will be put to Digvijaya Singh orally one by one and his response will be recorded, police sources said.
According to the sources, the queries are almost ready and only the approval of senior officials is required.
“As he is accused of getting over 12 people’s service merged into different government departments from state assembly, we are shortlisting queries we have to ask him. He will be asked about all the accused whom he had recommended for appointment or merger of service in other departments,” said a police officer on condition of anonymity.

As investigation proceeded, the police made five more persons as accused. More people are likely to be made accused in the case, said police sources.
The SIT, on September 28, summoned Singh to be present before SIT on September 30 to record his statement. As Singh was out of country, he sought time through his lawyer to be present before SIT.
