MP: CBI searches residence of former SECL officer, others

The CBI searched premises of a former sub area manager of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), Beheraband coal mines, Anuppur, and seized incriminating documents, investment papers, three keys of lockers and Rs 4,12,500 cash.

The CBI searched premises of a former sub area manager of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), Beheraband coal mines, Anuppur, and seized incriminating documents, investment papers, three keys of lockers and Rs 4,12,500 cash.

The CBI teams from Jabalpur searched various premises of former sub area manager RP Singh and five others in Anuppur (MP), Sarguja, Ambikapur, Durg, Korba, Bhilai (Chhattisgarh), Nagpur (Maharashtra) in connection with a case related to irregularity of Rs 44.65 lakh in tenders for deployment of labourers in Beharaband coal mines of SECL.

The searches were related to a criminal case registered against RP Singh and others. In financial year 2012-13, Singh and three other officers of SECL were accused of entering into a criminal conspiracy with Ajit Kumar Dubey, proprietor of M/s Dubey and Company. Apart from this firm, Dubey was also operating two other firms namely M/s Om Sai Constructions and M/s Tiwari Constructions for which he was having power of attorney.
