“I have received a letter from CM’s house. I have been asked to check all the facts related to the fatal road mishap,” Choudhary said.

The letter has been sent by Official on Special Duty (OSD) Rajeev Tandon.

Sources said Dr Khare’s wife met chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan recently and expressed suspicion of foul play in his death. Chouhan also assured her a fair probe.

A noted social worker and president of the Madhya Pradesh Medical Officers Association Dr Khare had filed a petition in the high court against the poor quality of drugs supplied to hospitals.

On August 18, 2014, Dr Khare had also claimed that somebody had visited his hospital and threatened him with dire consequences if he would not stop raising voice against the drug quality.
