Japanese firm Panasonic Corporation has proposed to invest $250 million dollars for setting up a 200-MW wind energy project in Madhya Pradesh. The company will set up the wind energy project in two phases.
A high-level delegation led by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also met investors of Nippon Express in Osaka. The logistics company has expressed its intention to set up a warehouse in the special economic zone (SEZ) Indore. Nippon Group already has a distribution company in Indore.
As reported in HT, the MP government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Japan to set up an exclusive Japanese industrial township in Pithampur near Indore.
Meanwhile, Chouhan concluded his five-day Japan tour on Saturday with a visit to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial. The CM was so moved during the visit that he wrote a long message in Hindi in the visitor’s book to express his sentiments.
“No other city should become Hiroshima — this is the oath we need to take. The world should seriously think about this and make a decision,” he wrote and later shared the same message on his twitter account.
The CM also tweeted “My heart filled with pain and agony when I imagined atomic catastrophe. I had heard about the tragedy but visiting Memorial was real experience.” Through his social media account, Chouhan expressed his solidarity and support with the victims.

{{/usCountry}}Earlier in the day, the chief minister addressed a business seminar in Osaka and exhorted industrialists of India and Japan to work together. “Industrialists of India & Japan have extraordinary capacity. We need to learn from one another,” he tweeted later.
Speaking at the seminar, Chouhan said that not only big industries but MP government is promoting medium & small scale industries too. Youth are being encouraged to set up their businesses, he said.
SEOUL VISIT
Chouhan would reach Seoul — the capital of South Korea on October 4.
From October 5, he would start his official engagements with a visit to Samsung Innovation Museum where he would hold discussions with its director.
He would also visit Songdo Smart City in the economic zone.
