After this, the "ousted" members will not be able to cast their votes in the MPCA elections scheduled to be held on August 26. The court further directed that all paperwork be completed within 10 days and the matter be listed thereafter for final hearing.

Advocate SK Bagadia and senior advocate GM Chafekar appeared on behalf of the terminated members, while senior advocate Ashok Chitley appeared on behalf of MPCA. A K Sethi appeared on behalf of Dr Paliwal, on whose complaint the assistant registrar (firms and cooperatives) of the state government had terminated the membership of the 20 functionaries.

Reacting to the decision of the court, MPCA spokesperson Ashok Kumuth said, "We respect the court's judgement and it will have no impact on the voting."
