PHCS to conduct pathology tests

Now the facility of pathology tests would be available in primary health centres (PHCs) also. The health department is planning to conduct large number of pathology tests in PHCs itself.

Now the facility of pathology tests would be available in primary health centres (PHCs) also. The health department is planning to conduct large number of pathology tests in PHCs itself.

The tests that would be made available include: Hepatitis B, Typhoid, Malaria, Tuberculosis, urine tests, hemoglobin and HIV test. At present, the facility of tests of hemoglobin, urine etc are available in some health centres of the state.

Microscopes and reagents would be made available to health centers for conducting new tests. Recruitment of lab technicians would be also done for this purpose.

Besides this, facility of microbiological tests would be started at civil hospitals and community health centres (CHCs). Autoanalysers would be established in CHCs and civil hospitals to conduct microbiological tests.

The department is also planning to provide rapid kits to the employees of health department working in rural areas. With the help of rapid kits, tests for pregnancy, typhoid, malaria etc would be done in few minutes.
