RSS activist Shyamlal Gurjar was arrested yesterday in connection with Naresh Motwani's killing, and has also been charged with violating the Arms Act, Superintendent of Police Jaideep Prasad told PTI on Saturday.

Earlier, Gurjar, who was named in the FIR on Thursday for Motwani's murder, surredered at the Kamla Nagar Police Station in the city along with a 9 MM pistol, which he claimed went off accidently while he was pulling it out of his pocket, he said.

A case against Gurjar was registered under Arms Acts besides Section 304 (2) (Punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the SP said, adding earlier police had registered a case against unidentified person into the matter.
