Leader of opposition in Madhya Pradesh assembly Satyadev Katare has expressed regret before the privilege committee of the House and recently sent a letter to it in this regard.

Katare, last month, had stormed into the house carrying a kamandal — an oblong water pot carried by ascetics — saffron robes, was served a breach of privilege notice by the assembly speaker.
On Tuesday, Katare tendered his apology to the assembly privilege committee.
The Congress leaders had taken the items to gift them to chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, as a symbolic protest.
Objecting to the Congress leader's behaviour in the state assembly and for taking 'external' items inside the House without prior permission, the BJP leaders had complained to the privilege committee and a notice was served on Katare.
Talking about the issue, Congress leaders said they thought it would be better to put the matter to rest so the leader of opposition sent the letter of regret to the privilege committee.
When contacted, Katare said he had sent his reply to the committee, but refused to comment further on the issue.
"As the matter is before the privilege committee, I would not be able to comment on it officially," he said.
The privilege committee will decide on the reply in its next meeting.
