Tiger and a leopard die mysteriously in the same area in MP

A tiger was found dead near Bhopal-Hoshangabad rail line in Midghat area, which falls under Sehore district on Thursday, nearly 45 kms from Bhopal.

Bhopal: A tiger was found dead near Bhopal-Hoshangabad rail line in Midghat area, which falls under Sehore district on Thursday, nearly 45 kms from Bhopal. The carcass was found near a pool of water near the rail track.

Within few hundreds metres on the same rail track, a leopard had died in a train hit. It’s head was severed from the body due to the impact of the speeding train.

The officials of the Railway Protection Force confirmed the death of the two big cats.

This is the third tiger death in the state this year. In the third week of last month, a buffalo had killed a tiger cub in the buffer zone of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, .

Earlier in January a ten-year old tigress died due to electrocution in Banas river area near Sanjay-Dubari Tiger Reserve in Shahdol district.

This is the second incident this year in which a wild animal has died in a train hit. In January, a three-year-old leopard was mowed down by a speeding train on the Kanti-Gunghati railway track in Shahdol district .
