If you are an environment enthusiast, 18-year-old and a graduate with physical agility, then you can actually help the forest department to protect the state’s green cover and wildlife.
On the lines of Karnataka, the state ecotourism board has decided to train nature volunteers to man its forests and create environmental awareness.
The board will invite experts from its counterpart in the southern state to train applicants at a five-day camp at Satpura Tiger Reserve in April. Similar trainings would be held at five other tiger reserves in Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Pench, Panna and Sanjay.
“The objective is to involve the public in forest and wildlife protection thereby creating awareness. We expect people in the corporate sector to respond to the initiative in large numbers,” said MP ecotourism board’s chief executive officer Vinay Varman.
Whenever the forest department requires staff for forest fire management or wildlife crimes among others, it will call the volunteers, he added. Varman said the nature volunteers should be a committed to the work else their badges, issued after completion of training, would be withdrawn.
According to sources, the nature volunteers would be provided knowledge on tree types, wildlife species and conservation methods during the training.

Can be either a resident of MP or work in the state
Be over 18 years
Have physical fitness.
