Hours before the film releases and a day before the reviews appear, here’s what you can expect from this week’s release(s).

Film: Ferrari Ki Sawaari

Cast: Sharman Joshi (last acted in Allah Ke Bande; 2010), Boman Irani (last acted in Tezz) and master Ritvik Sahore (debut)

Storyline: The law-abiding Parsi father of a cricket fanatic takes a major risk to fulfill his son’s wish, only to spark off a whirlwind journey of comic sequences and slapstick scenes.

Debut Director: Rajesh Mapurkar
He previously worked on 3 Idiots and Lage Raho Munnabhai as the associate director. From producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s camp, this film will mark Mapuskar’s debut as a director and screenwriter.

Music: Pritam
For a change, his music hasn’t created any record-breaking buzz; probably because there was no news of any tracks being plagiarised this time.

Controversies/stunts:
Publicity points included: Hindi film shot at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London for the first time; first solo lead role for Sharman; Mapuskar’s first directorial; features Vidya Balan’s first item number; the first time Pritam’s music isn’t topping charts. Lots of firsts to look forward to here.

Marketing/hype
Vidya Balan was roped in for a mind-bogglingly annoying item number called Mala Zau de. The Ferrari in the film apparently belonged to Sachin Tendulkar before he sold it to a Gujarati businessman who, for no fault of his own, has been making headlines for a few weeks now.
