After Big B, it’s Junior B for Bbuddah director

Puri Jagannath admits to speculations about a sequel, will add Raveena’s item number to DVD on public demand.

Puri Jagannath is gearing up for a meeting with the Bachchans in a couple of days. “Ever since Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap opened in theatres last Friday, people have been asking me if a sequel is on the way,” admits the film’s director. “Yes, the ending was left open but we’d not thought of taking the story forward while shooting the film. But now, I’ll bring up the subject of Bbuddah 2 with Mr Bachchan (Amitabh). I don’t have a story yet but if he’s interested, we could get it rolling next year.”

Before Bbuddah 2, however, he intends to flag off a film with Abhishek. “It’ll have romance and action… And a Telugu version with Mahesh Babu, with whom I’d done Pokiri (2006) earlier, and Kajal Agarwal (she makes her Bollywood in Ajay Devgn’s Singham). We’ve still to finalise the heroine opposite Abhishek,” informs Puri. The film is reportedly titled Businessman with the tagline, “Guns don’t need agreements.”

Meanwhile, Chandigarh ki star…, a promotional song featuring Raveena Tandon, will be incorporated in the DVDs of Bbuddah… on public demand. Raveena admits that she’s got a number of “disappointed” calls and messages because her item number was missing in the film. Puri concurs, and says it’ll be difficult to incorporate the track in the prints now, but promises an added bonus for those watching the film at home when the official DVD is out.
