Akshay Kumar returns to Bangkok

Akshay Kumar suggested shooting in the Thai capital to the makers of his next; even selected locations suited for the script. Before establishing himself as a star in Bollywood, Akshay Kumar studied martial arts in Bangkok. In those days, he also worked as a waiter at a restaurant in the capital city of Thailand. But now, after achieving success in his film career, Akshay seems to not have lost his love for the beautiful city. So much so, that the actor expressed his wish to shoot his next, It’s Entertainment, in the city.

“While we were shortlisting the locations to shoot our film, the names of about five or six countries kept coming up. But as soon as Bangkok was suggested in the meeting, Akshay seemed very excited. He expressed his desire to shoot the film there and we agreed as the location was apt for the film as well,” says producer Ramesh Taurani.

Not only has Akshay suggested the location, but he has also helped the makers with picking the appropriate destinations to shoot different parts of the film. “He knows Bangkok in and out. We have locked the locations suggested by Akshay including Baanpradhana Bungalow in Ongkuruk, Asiatique Mall, Ancient City, Bangkok University and Ongkuruk railway station,” says the producer.

Earlier, Akshay has shot portions of Chandni Chowk To China (2009) in the Thai city.
