Looks like film-maker Amole Gupte’s recent release
has garnered more than just critical appreciation.
Considering the Rs 6 crore budget — including promotion and advertising, (according to the production house) — the film has done decently at the box office, making Rs 4.25 crore in its opening weekend. And now, we’ve heard the director is being approached for remakes of the film in two regional languages down south.
An industry insider reveals, "On Saturday (May 10), a southern production body discussed the Tamil remake of the film with Amole. They also mentioned the idea of a Kannada remake. Amole has given his thumbs up, and so has the production house. The moneys are yet to be discussed, but both the films will go on the floors early in 2015."
The insider also adds that the south team and the makers of the original are discussing if Amole’s creative inputs will be required for the south versions.

confirms the news and says, "I’m very happy that the film has connected with people across the country. It is now being remade down south and I want both the films to do equally well."
