Anil Kapoor’s Ek Ladki Ko Dekha to be recreated for his film with Sonam Kapoor

Anil Kapoor’s song from 1942 A Love Story will be recreated for his film with daughter Sonam titled Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga.

The iconic song Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga will be recreated for producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s upcoming film of the same name, starring Anil Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor.

Kumar Sanu originally crooned the evergreen number in the film, 1942- A Love Story (1994), which was picturised on Anil.

Directed by Shelly Chopra Dhar, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga went on floors last month in Patiala. Sonam Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, and Juhi Chawla joined the sets later.

Sharing a picture from the sets, Sonam Kapoor tweeted Friday afternoon, “Even work feels like home with Dad & this amazing team! Dhar said in a press statement, “Yes, we are recreating the original and we want to replicate its iconic status. It’s hard to beat the original so I will be happy if we are at par with it. However, we’ll have to wait and see who sings the new version and for whom in the film”.

TV actress Madhu Malti essays the role of Anil’s mother and Rajkummar Rao play Sonam’s love interest.

The film is slated to release on October 12.
