It is just three days since filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s first short film on the platform - Large Short Films - That Day After Everyday went online on YouTube. And the video already has around 4 lakh views.



Revolving around the sensitive issue of eve teasing and molestation, the short film stars Sandhya Mridul, Radhika Apte, Arannya Kaur, Geetanjali Thapa, Mahesh Balraj, Akash Sinha, Alok Pandey and Ravi Choudhary.



Produced by Sankalp Acharekar, Jayanti Saha and Showhouse Films, That Day After Everyday is a story of three working women - the troubles they face everyday, both inside and outside their houses.

Interestingly, the short film not only shows the eve-teasers that roam around on streets but also underlines the subtle partriarchal attitude your own family members have. Anurag's film tells women how and why they do not need a man to protect them from assault.



A woman is seen cooking food and preparing tea while her husband reads aloud articles from a newspaper, warning her time and again that she should not voice any kind of protest against trouble-makers. Another shot shows a woman taking care of her mom-in-law (or may be mom) and a kid just as she gets ready for her office. Here again, the mom preaches on how she should abstain from voicing any protest against molesters.



Traversing the women’s journey from being the target of lewd comments and molestation attempts on their way to office to being the target of letching men in office, the film then portrays their protest.



In the closing shots, we see the husband preparing tea while blabbering about how it was a good step the wife took. Turning of tables, you would say!



The film is written by Nitin Bhardwaj Varun Grover has penned the lyrics.
