After much speculation on the release date of Sudhir Mishra’s Inkaar, the word is finally out. The film will hit theatres on January 18. Mishra says that the date was pushed by three months so that it doesn’t clash with lead actor Arjun Rampal’s other projects.

“Does it make sense to release multiple films of one star one after another? His film Heroine just released. His next is Prakash Jha’s Chakravyuh (to hit theatres on October 12). So, we need time to promote our film. That’s the sole reason we are releasing it in January. It will give us time to market the film properly,” he explains.

Incidentally, Chakravyuh and Inkaar were supposed to release on the same date. But since Mishra and Jha are good pals, they decided to avert the big clash. “There’s no point killing someone else’s business,” says Mishra, who’s busy with the post-production of his film, which also stars Chitrangada Singh. Inkaar deals with gender politics and sexual harassment in a corporate set-up.
