Arjun to get animated?

Makers plans a sequel to Arjun – The Warrior Prince, director set to meet Ishaqzaade star for the voice-over.

Arjun – The Warrior Prince hits theatres today, but the animation film has already achieved an unprecedented feat: its sequel has been finalised even before the original film releases.

Director Arnab Chaudhuri has wrapped up most of the pre-production nitty-gritty to start Arjun — The Warrior Prince 2. “Yes, we are ready with the script of Arjun 2. In fact, a lot of work on designing (the character) is over. So in terms of pre-production, we are all set to roll,” confirms Arnab.

But what’s most interesting is that Ishaqzaade star Arjun Kapoor might make his animation debut with the sequel. “Arnab has decided to approach Arjun for the voice-over of Mahabharata’s Arjun in part two. After looking at his work in Ishaqzaade, Arnab is really impressed with the Kapoor scion. We are keeping our fingers crossed about Arjun’s nod for the film,” says an insider from the crew.

The debutant director also confirms that Arjun is the apt choice for the job. “Given the character and the physicality (of the character Arjun), Arjun Kapoor seems the fittest of them all to lend his voice to it,” says Arnab. Once the brief and storyboard are fully complete, the filmmakers will meet Arjun regarding the sequel.

Arnab’s film comes two decades after Arjun and his Pandava siblings first mesmerised Indian audiences in B.R. Chopra’s television classic, Mahabharata.
