Ishan Khatter will soon be seen in Dhadak.

The makers of internationally acclaimed Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi’s latest, Beyond The Clouds, are gearing up for the film’s India release. As part of the build-up plan, they have released two posters of the film’s lead cast, Ishan Khattar and Malavika Mohanan.

Khattar, who has already become a hot property in Bollywood after bagging producer Karan Johar’s Dhadak, has left a mark at prestigious film festivals throughout the world. Still, it will be interesting to see his Indian reception.

The yellow-tinged posters go with Majidi’s filmmaking style that has always focussed on the character’s internal journey than the outer one. Despite simple set-ups, Majidi manages to evoke the most potent emotions in the viewers’ minds.

These minimalist posters don’t reveal anything more than the names of Khattar and Mohanan, which are Amir and Tara, but they have a melancholic feel attached to them. In fact, these posters appear like novel covers of the ‘90s.

In an earlier interview with IANS, Majidi had said, “In India, cinema is like an industry. Young generations do not have chances for innovation in order to express themselves because of the shadow of the industry. Based on my personal experience, I have found out that in India you have brilliant talent but they do not have the chance.”

Probably that’s why he decided to cast Ishan, who is Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor’s half-brother, in the lead role.

Beyond The Clouds is yet to get its India release date.
