Big B’s cameo for Kher

When director Karan Razdan narrated the role of Mr Bhatti to Kher, he mentioned that the character is fascinated by a Bollywood star. Kher immediately suggested the name of Bachchan, whom he has shared screen space with in several films.

Amitabh Bachchan is set to play himself in a cameo in Anupam Kher-starrer Mr Bhatti On Chutti. When director Karan Razdan narrated the role of Mr Bhatti to Kher, he mentioned that the character is fascinated by a Bollywood star. Kher immediately suggested the name of Bachchan, whom he has shared screen space with in several films.

Says Razdan, “I was hesitant to ask a megastar to play a small part in my film, but Anupamji personally put in a word asking him to hear the script. Mr Bachchan liked it and immediately agreed.”

Mr Bhatti On Chutti marks Kher’s return to comedy after a string of serious films. The story revolves around a delusional man whose aim is to save the world and bring it peace. A lovable yet lonely bank clerk, he is an ardent admirer and huge fan of Bachchan. The film will release in theatres by the end of August.
