He may have turned a year older on Monday (September 28), but Ranbir Kapoor had a working birthday in London, UK, where the actor is shooting for Karan Johar’s next film.
“It’s always great to be at work on your birthday. I don’t believe in birthday celebrations. It’s a day that makes me sad. Though you are supposed to feel special, birthdays have never met my expectations,” says the actor.
Before he left for London, Ranbir had said at a city event that, rather than gifts and presents, he looks forward to receiving birthday wishes from people.
When it comes to his Bollywood career, Ranbir will complete eight years in the Hindi film industry in November. But he admits that he hasn’t become a superstar yet. “For the last seven years, people have been telling me that I am the next superstar. But I am not one. When I become a superstar, then I will talk about it,” he says.
Ranbir believes that he is doing good work, and feels that the quality of cinema has improved. “Actors are becoming fearless. The selection of movies itself is pushing the boundaries of cinema, performance and box-office collections. I think we are all inspiring one another,” he says.
