Film: Shootout At Wadala
Cast: John Abraham (last seen in I, Me Aur Main; 2013), Tusshar Kapoor (last seen in Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum; 2012), Kangana Ranaut (last seen in Tezz; 2012), Anil Kapoor (last seen in Race 2), Manoj Bajpai (last seen in Special 26) and Sonu Sood (last seen in Maximum; 2012) among others
Storyline: The film is apparently a prequel to the 2011 hit, Shootout At Lokhandwala. It tells the story of Mumbai Police’s first encounter, in which gangster Manya Surve's life was claimed. No need to worry about spoilers in this Sanjay Gupta film; or any, for that matter.

Sanjay Gupta (Last directed segments in the anthology film, Dus Kahaniyaan; 2007)
He directed five of the 10 short films as part of the movie, which he also produced. It did not do great business. However, the last feature film he directed was Zinda in 2006 which reportedly faced legal action for borrowing heavily from the Korean hit, Oldboy (2003).

Which film has three item numbers? An insecure one, or one made by a filmmaker who believes that’s when gangsters aren’t “at work”, they’re watching women dance. Even though Priyanka Chopra went to town announcing she didn’t want ‘Babli badmaash’ to look vulgar, her moves are far from being called kid-friendly. ‘Laila teri’ also written to earn controversy and in turn, headlines; it did.

Since Sanjay Gupta wanted to announce his return to direction after the massive debacle called Zinda, he began promoting this film even before he started casting for it. He screened a montage of various action-packed international movies to give the media a feel of what the film will be like.

Marketing/hype
John Abraham seems to have taken an extra initiative in promoting this film, while lead actress Kangana Ranaut has been busy shooting for other films. Basically, the makers have left no stone unturned to attempt informing every unassuming soul in this country about their project.
Our assessment
If John Abraham’s shrill attempt at screaming (or speaking loudly, whatever it is that he’s trying to do) in the promo of this movie doesn't scare you away, then you probably have it in you to withstand the rest of this one.
