The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday filed a chargesheet in the Jiah Khan suicide case. The chargesheet has been filed in a special CBI court in Mumbai.

The case was transferred to the CBI in July last year following the orders of the Bombay high court which had directed the agency to probe whether the death was a suicide or homicide on the plea of Jiah’s mother Rabia.
Special public prosecutor Dinesh Tiwari, who had also appeared for Jiah’s mother Rabiya, expressed his surprise at the CBI’s move. “I was never informed about the charge sheet and the conclusion that the agency had arrived at,” Tiwari said, adding that he will oppose the charge sheet if the CBI concludes the death as a suicide.
The 25-year-old British-American actor, was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her home in Juhu on June 3, 2013. According to Jiah’s mother Sooraj Pancholi, son of actor couple Aditya Pancholi and Zareena Wahab was in relation with the actor. She requested a probe into the death of her daughter. She alleged that it was not suicide.
Her relationship with actor Sooraj Pancholi was said to be under strain and it was suspected that it drove her to end her life.
