Alia Bhatt made her Bollywood debut at the age of 19 in Karan Johar’s film, Student of the Year (2012), and now, after more than a year, will be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s Highway. And although the young actor is independent enough to make her own decisions, her father Mahesh Bhatt still calls to get details of on-the-set happenings of her upcoming project.

As part of the shooting schedule of the film, which also stars Randeep Hooda, and is set to release on February 21, Alia had to travel to six different states and the team has reportedly had to face even extreme weather conditions. So, not surprisingly, the concerned father used to call Alia multiple times in a day to check if she had lunch, dinner and get updates about the schedule.

“Throughout the schedule, Bhatt was in constant touch with her daughter. So much so, that sometimes, Alia used to ask us to take his calls and give him updates whenever she was busy with the shoot or doing make-up,” says an insider.

The actor confirms the story and admits that she respects the fact that her father wants to keep in touch on a daily basis and is such a caring parent.
