Danny and I are only going to have fun: Anil Kapoor

Anil Kapoor, after reuniting with the Mission Impossible 4 team in Los Angeles, will meet Slumdog Millionnaire director and dine with his childhood fantasy Barbra Streisand at BAFTA.

Anil Kapoor returns tonight from Los Angeles, USA, after attending the Screen Actors’ Guild Awards and completing a slew of meetings with top production houses. The actor plans to attend director David Dhawan’s son, Rohit’s wedding in Goa before taking off to London to attend the BAFTA where he will be presenting an award.

Understandably, the 52-year-old is excited. “After the SAG Awards, I had a couple of meetings lined up in LA, which have gone off well. But I’m not in a hurry to sign up Hollywood movies. I have Roger Donaldson’s Cities in hand for now, and I’m cool doing one film at a time,” says Anil, adding, “But the highlight of my stay was a reunion with Tom Cruise and the cast and crew of MI:4. It was fun. People here laughed about the length of my role, which was expected, but there (in Hollywood), even small parts are appreciated. I’m glad Shekhar (filmmaker Shekhar Kapur) pushed me to do MI:4. Now, I’m being noticed there.”

After attending the BAFTA, the actor returns to the city on February 15. “The organisers are so sorted. They’ve worked out my clothes and schedule,” says Anil, adding with a laugh, “It’s child-like excitement right now because the experience is extremely new. A decade later, if I’m still being invited, and I’m bored of attending, I may just drop out.”
