Deva to dance in 3D musical

Choreographer-director Remo D’Souza in talks with Prabhu Deva for film, to go on floors this year.

With a hit directorial debut FALTU behind him, Remo D’Souza is now gearing up to make what he calls India’s first 3D musical. The director-choreographer is already in talks with dance wizard Prabhu Deva to act in the film. “I’m in constant touch with Prabhu. He is excited about the idea,” says Remo. “The only issue is that he is also a busy director now, so he has to have the time to shoot with me.”

Remo plans to take the film on floors in September. “I’m almost ready with the script’s first draft. There will be traces of my life in it. The film is about a person’s struggle to become a dancer in India,” he says. Ask Remo if he wants any other star in the film and he shoots back: “I will be happy with only Prabhu on board since Hrithik (Roshan) and Shahid (Kapoor), other good dancers, are too busy.” Former contestants from TV show Dance India Dance, Dharmesh and Prince, have also been cast. “I don’t want any big star because it’s a full-on dance movie. I can assure you that it’s not an easy job to make a non-dancer jig. But I can somehow get a dancer to act,” laughs Remo.
