Dibakar Banerjee is a man of varied tastes. After delving into the complexities of a common man's idiosyncrasies with Khosla ka Ghosla and modern day love-lust affairs with Love Sex aur Dhokha, he is now looking at politics.
Buzz is that Banerjee's next movie is loosely based on ex-Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's assassination. Apparently, Banerjee had wanted to make a polical-thriller for a long time but he got busy with LSD. Lately, he has been digging deep and researching on top political assassinations.

The film will star Abhay Deol and Emraan Hashmi in the lead. Initially Banerjee had planned to cast Imran Khan along with Abhay Deol in the lead but Imran could not work out dates for the director.
Lead actress for the film is yet to be finalised. A source told Mumbai Mirror, "Dibakar is considering Manisha Koirala and Sushmita Sen for the role of a female politician in the film. Talks are also on with Kalki for playing the female lead in the film."
Emraan Hashmi confirmed the news and said, "Yes I am in talks with Dibakar."
