Actor Pitobash Tripathy, now fondly known as the ‘Bharat mata ki…’ man, claims to have been neglected by the production houses of Shanghai, in spite of doing a big part in the film. “I wasn’t informed about anything — the first look, music launch and not even the world premiere of the film,” says an angry Pitobash. “It’s a PVR and Dibakar Banerjee production and they didn’t even invite me.”

Talking about being sidelined, he says, “On the day of the music launch, some reporters called to ask me why I wasn’t there. That’s how I got to know that the event was taking place. It’s unfair that I was kept in the dark.” He adds, “Even at the world premiere of the film (at IIFA 2012), I was seated with the audience while everyone, from the cinematographer to the director, was on stage.

I don’t come from a filmi family, so when you work with such people, you hope that they’ll support and promote you.” The actor, who earlier won the Screen Award for Best Comedian for his role in Shor In The City (2011), hopes that things will change. He says, “I want to do good work, but I don’t want to be ignored on my films’ important occasions.” We tried contacting Dibakar, but he remained unavailable for comment.
