Protests against Rohan Sippy's

Dum Marao Dum

just got louder in Goa with their State Women's Commission (GSWC) taking offence to the alleged derogatory references to Goan women in the forthcoming movie.

GSWC Chairman Ezilda Sapeco filed a complaint with the local police urging them to investigate the movie and said the commission will monitor the probe. “The trailer itself says that Goa is a destination for drugs and sex,” Sapeco said.

Sippy's flick, which depicts the drug underbelly of the tourist state has raised a stink in Goa with lawmakers, social activists, women welfare groups and now GSWC expressing their reservation on the movie.

Sapeco added that the movie should not be allowed to be released, till it is screened before the police, and the filmmaker is investigated by the authorities.

Besides filing a police complaint, GSWC officials also met state Chief Minister Digambar Kamat and Home Minister Ravi Naik, seeking their intervention in the matter.
