Apparently, Yash Raj Film’s (YRF) casting director Shanoo Sharma was looking for an actor to play the male lead in Habib Tanvir’s film when she came across Arjun’s profile on Facebook and immediately decided to meet him. “At that time, no one knew that Arjun was Boney’s son. Once Shanoo met Arjun, everyone in the YRF team was sure that they wanted him for this film. He fit the bill perfectly. Plus, they wanted to cast a new face in the role opposite Parineeti Chopra,” says an insider in YRF.

Although Arjun is unavailable for media interactions at the moment, Shanoo confirms the news saying: “Yes, Arjun and I met on Facebook via our common friends. When I was going through his pictures, I instantly felt that he had a lot of potential. Later, I met him over coffee and then at a couple of auditions. But he wasn’t told which project it was being done for.”

A couple of days ago, the release date of Ishaqzaade was antedated from May 18 to May 11, resulting in a clash with Vikram Bhatt’s 3D outing, Dangerous Ishq, which marks the comeback of Karisma Kapoor to Bollywood after five years.
