Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Ferrari Ki Sawaari (FKS) has managed average collections at the box office even though there was a good rise on Sunday. However the producer is happy with the earnings and says, “I knew the film would open slow as it’s a Sharman Joshi movie, not a Shah Rukh Khan starrer. The fact that it opened at Rs 3 crore is huge, as Sharman has never even seen a Rs 10 lakh opening for a solo film.”

Trade pundit Taran Adarsh says, “FKS started on a slow note, but grew steadily every day. Friday saw a decent Rs 3.04 crore collection and business picked up on Saturday with Rs 4.50 crore. Sunday was the big earner in metros with a total of Rs 6.37 crore. Word of mouth publicity has helped FKS.”

Trade analyst Komal Nahta adds, “Made for Rs 18 crore (including budget and promotions), the movie was sold to Eros for Rs 30 crore only. Over the opening weekend, it collected approximately Rs 13 crore. FKS is an average grosser and it seems unlikely that Eros will be able to recover their money from it.” He adds the film is faring better in big cities than in smaller towns. Chopra claims, “FKS has gone beyond our expectations. The Sunday collections (Rs 6.37 crore) are double the Friday figures (R3.04 crore).
