Special songs and item numbers are catching the fancy of our Bollywood stars like never before. A bevy of upcoming films will see A-list stars grooving to the peppy beats of item numbers. Right from
and Akshay Kumar to Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shilpa Shetty, everyone’s gearing up for a dance number this year. Here’s a lowdown.
Salman Khan
Another special song will see actor in brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri’s upcoming film, O Teri. In the title song, the 48-year-old star is seen shaking a leg with other actors from the film — Pulkit Samrat, Bilal Amrohi and Sarah Jane Dias. "We wanted to do something that will be worthy of Salman’s contribution. The song has turned out really well... it is fabulous. I am thankful to Salman," Atul says.
Kareena Kapoor Khan
will be doing a special number in the Akshay Kumar-starrer, Gabbar. "She will only be doing a special song in the film. We are yet to decide on what kind of a number it will be and when we will shoot for it. We are excited to work with Kareena again," producer Shabina Khan was quoted as saying. Gabbar is an official remake of the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Tamil film, Ramana (2002), by AR Murugadoss.
Akshay Kumar
The action star, along with Salman Khan, recently shot for a special song for his upcoming home production, Fugly. In the song, the other actors Arfi Lamba, Vijender Singh, Mohit Marwah and Kiara Advani will be seen dancing along with Akshay Kumar and Salman. Talking about the same, the film’s director Kabir Sadanand says, "The best way to introduce my cast was to do it through superstars like Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar. They have always been supportive of new talent and it doesn’t get bigger than this."
Shahid Kapoor
The actor has collaborated with director Prabhu Dheva once again for his next, Action Jackson. Shahid has a special number in the film. An industry insider reveals, "It’s a disco song and was shot in Mumbai. It is a peppy number. What’s more, Shahid will be seen shaking a leg with Prabhu Dheva in it. The last time they came together, though for a brief shot, was in the song ‘Gandi baat’." The film will have Sonakshi Sinha and Ajay Devgn in the lead roles.
Shilpa Shetty Kundra
The actor, who’s previously turned heads with her hit songs such as ‘Shut up and bounce’ and ‘Main aayi hoon UP-Bihar lootne’, is showing her dancing prowess in an item number, ‘Tu mere type ka nahi hai’, for her upcoming maiden home production, Dishkiyaaoon. The upbeat song has a retro feel to it. The music video shows Shilpa, along with the film’s lead actor Harman Baweja, dancing to the steps of choreographer duo Bosco-Caesar. Talking about the same, the 38-year-old, says, "I wanted to look fit for the song and so, did heavy-duty cardio and other training. I was conned into doing this song and didn’t have the option of not doing it. But it was lot of fun and I am happy to have done it."
