Hair apparent

At Tusshar Kapoor’s behest, Sooraj Barjatya delays shoot of Luv U Mr Kalakaar, waits for actor to grow back his locks which he cropped for Shor.

We’ve seen quite a few movies where the actors’ hairstyles keep changing in between shots. Usually continuity is the filmmakers’ responsibility, but off late some actors have also begun working towards keeping their look ‘intact’ through the film. And some actors like Tusshar Kapoor, are taking that a step further, and maintaining continuity even for the film’s promotion.

Kapoor, who sports long hair in Sooraj Barjatya’s Luv U Mr Kalakaar, had to go for a short crop to shoot some additional sequences for his home-production, Shor. When the actor had to shoot a campaign for the Rajshri Production with Amrita Rao, he wasn’t satisfied with the result. Since his hair looked different, he requested the producers to give him some time for his hair to grow back. “While shooting for the campaign, I knew that I was not looking like my character looks in the film. So after overcoming initial apprehensions, I, Amrita and Manasvi (director S Manasvi) expressed our reservations and requested him (Barjatya) to postpone it by a couple of weeks,” says Kapoor. “Soorajji saw the campaign shots and he too, agreed.”

High on the praise that Shor garnered at the Indo-American Arts Council in New York last year, Kapoor is looking forward to its release on April 28. “While it maintains the commercial aspect, we hope people will like its alternative style,” says the actor who will also be seen in Sagar Bellary’s Hum Tum Aur Shabana and Milan Luthria’s Dirty Picture later this year.
