I’d love to act in movies in other languages: Ranveer Singh

Popular actor Ranveer Singh says he has received offers for films in languages besides Hindi, but he is too “allured” by B-Town projects currently.

With each release — be it Band Baaja Baaraat (2010), Lootera (2013), Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela (2013) or Bajirao Mastani (2015) — Ranveer Singh (right) has been strengthening his position in the industry, as an actor and as a bankable star with regards to the box-office. The actor has also been offered films in languages other than Hindi. “I would love to act in movies in other languages whenever the time is right. There have been a few offers, but I’m more allured by the ones back home in Bollywood right now,” he says.

Ranveer has nearly completed work on his mentor-film-maker Aditya Chopra’s directorial venture in Paris, France. “It has been an incredible experience. It was exactly what the doctor ordered, after an intense film like Bajirao Mastani. My fondest memory has been the time I have spent bonding with Adi sir. He and I have made the film in the happiest phases of our lives. I hope our happiness translates on to the big screen,” says Ranveer.

Ranveer adds, “In order to commit to Bajirao Mastani, I had to change my look. That was a bit restrictive, as I couldn’t do a lot of live shows and brand work. And I enjoy that. Advertising was my side thing [before I started my acting career]. I used to be a copywriter. So, I’m really looking forward to shooting for some of these ads.”
