I don’t have as much money as Ranbir: Ranveer Singh

Actor Ranveer Singh is on a high with his recent film hits. Now, if only he could also buy a football team ala his contemporary and rival Ranbir Kapoor, since Ranveer is as much a fan of the sport as his ­namesake. Sadly, he ­confesses, he can’t.

Now, if only he could also buy a football team ala his contemporary and rival Ranbir Kapoor, since Ranveer is as much a fan of the sport as his ­namesake. Sadly, he ­confesses, he can’t.

Ranbir has ­invested in a football team. Do you, too, intend to ­invest in the game since you’re a huge football fan?
I don’t have as much money as he does (to buy a football team). I have a lot of other things to invest in.

The football World Cup begins in June. How do you plan to catch up on all the games since you’re a fan of the sport?
Well, I’ll be shooting Zoya Akhtar’s film overseas. So if she gives me time off, I’ll be able to catch a few games.

You’re probably one of the most ‘in demand’ actors right now. Has that changed anything about you as a person?
I’ve become more confident about my craft. I don’t get nervous to a point where I’ll mess up something. It used to happen a lot earlier.

With projects like Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao ­Mastani in your kitty, something else that you would like to add to your wishlist?
I’m happy with what I have, and focussing on it right now. But I do have a wishlist of who I would like to work with. I am superstitious about these things, so I can’t say who all. All I can say is that I really want to do a very good comedy. The one thing that comes to me the least is comedy and I don’t know why. It’s on top of my list.
