I don’t want to be just a pretty face in a film: Disha Patani

Actor Disha Patani says that although she is not averse to commercial films, she wants to take up meaningful roles that give her a kick and not settle for films where she has to just “look pretty”.

Disha Patani, who’s getting rave reviews for her performance in the recent MS Dhoni biopic, is clear about one thing: She won’t do a film just to be the eye candy.

Actor Disha Patani is against taking up a film for the heck of it.

“I am looking for strong characters rather than being just a pretty girl. Actresses can do so much more than looking good,” says Patani. “It’s not that I don’t want to do commercial films, but if my part is just to look pretty, I’m not up for it. I’d do a role that expresses something. It’s not that I don’t want to look good, but give me a part where I have scope to perform.”

Perhaps it’s a good thing then that Patani is a workaholic. “I am a workaholic. I am very restless, and I am always looking for good work. I don’t act for the heck of it; I do it because I love it,” she says.
