‘I’ll drive an auto with machine guns’

Stand-up comedian Aziz Ansari will leave you rolling on the floor with his deadpan humour, especially when the US-based funny man of Indian origin comes to unravelling his Bollywood aspirations.

Stand-up comedian Aziz Ansari will leave you rolling on the floor with his deadpan humour, especially when the US-based funny man of Indian origin comes to unravelling his Bollywood aspirations. “I’d love to do a Bollywood action movie. Maybe, it could be about me driving an auto that has been souped up with machine guns and let’s hope that I’m fine with it,” the comic-turned-actor tells us over telephone from LA.

Ask if the 28-year-old has seen any Indian movies and Ansari, who “speaks a little bit of Tamil at home” says, “I’ve seen some Tamil movies with my parents when I was a kid, but I don’t remember the names.”

As of now, the actor is busy bagging kudos for his role as actor Jesse Eisenberg’s Indian pal Chet in their latest flick, 30 Minutes or Less, which hit Indian screens on Friday.

A self-confessed workaholic, Ansari says he is unaware about the politics in the country, but has his own take on dealing with the problems here, if he was ever made a political leader in India. “I’m not really a political person. I’d probably bail out of my job and run around finding some good chicken korma and idli-appam,” he says.
