I’ll have a message for the audience in every film I do: Varun Dhawan

Dishoom actor Varun Dhawan looks back at 2016. He says his next film Badrinath Ki Dulhania has a message for the audience.

2016 was a good year for Varun Dhawan, who saw success with his brother Rohit Dhawan’s directorial Dishoom. He says it was a “conscious decision” to go slow as he had done three films in the previous year. Varun says, “In 2017, I’ll have more than one film release for sure. I feel our audience is changing. One should reflect on the changes and observe, before taking things ahead. Next year will be pretty busy for me.”

Varun Dhawan says comedy is a tough genre and one can’t learn comic timing.

While many people make resolutions in the New Year, Varun has made a decision. “One thing I have decided that from now on, I’ll try to put a message for the audience in every film I do. My next film is Badrinath Ki Dulhania with Alia (Bhatt). Though it’s a love story, it has an important message too. If I do something and there is a meaning attached to it, then it will have more meaning for me.”

Other than comedy, Varun enjoys dancing too. He recently enjoyed performing at an awards show for kids and says he did so for his little fans. “Dancing with kids is tough as one has to keep up with their energy. I enjoy dancing and even did a film like ABCD 2 (2015). As an actor, you have to dance, cry and fight, too, and one does what is needed to entertain people.”
