‘I’m a super b***h’

Says actor Shruti Seth about her character in her next film, My Friend Pinto.

After getting rave reviews for her minor yet significant role in Raajneeti last year, the Shararat girl Shruti Seth is eagerly awaiting the release of her next film My Friend Pinto. Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film stars an ensemble cast comprising Prateik, Makrand Deshpande and Kalki Koechlin.

The film revolves around the independent stories of 10 characters that come together over a period of 24 hours. Talking about her character, Shruti says, “I play a super b***h in the film. My character is an over-achiever, ready to compromise her relationships for personal success.”

Image makeover Anxious to get rid of her girl-next-door image, the actor adds, “I’ve always played cutesy roles. But that has thankfully changed after Raajneeti. People sat up and noticed that I could do other stuff too.”

The actor, who married filmmaker Danish Aslam in a private ceremony in Goa last year, has just returned from her three-week-long honeymoon in the US. “In Miami, I lived my life’s biggest dream of watching my favorite band U2 perform live,” she says. “My husband, who shares my passion for the band, actually planned our honeymoon around June 29, which is when the band performed in Florida City.”
