Unlike most theatre artists, Sanjai prefers Bollywood over theatre. "Theatre has its limitations. Cinema has a far better reach," says the actor whose Ankhon Dekhi hits theatres on Friday. But no leading man roles for him for obvious reasons.

Rajat Kapoor's

Ankhon Dekhi, which is set to hit theatres on Friday.

The actor, who has made a mark in Hindi films (Sanjai says he does not like the word Bollywood) as a comedian, claims he never reads the script or prepares for his role in advance. "I simply give myself to what my director demands," he says in an interview with Hindustantimes.com.

Sanjai

says, "I once read a script thrice before going to the sets and had my own perception of the character and the film. When I reached the sets, I realised it was nowhere near the director's concept. I then decided never to read the scripts beforehand."

Mishra has had a long affair with acting -- he enrolled with the National School of Drama after completing his schooling and has been working in movies and TV shows ever since. However, unlike most theatre artists, he prefers films over theatre. "Theatre has its limitations. Cinema has a far better reach. I am not at all a theatre person," says the actor.

Mishra will be seen in Rajat Kapoor's

Ankhon Dekhi

where he plays the central character Bauji. Talking about the role, he says, "This could be anyone's father who is done with his share of duties for the family and decides to live life as he wants. Bauji wants to believe in things that he has seen. That's where he differs from any other dad."

When asked about his wishlist for directors, Sanjai says that

Rajat Kapoor

was on the top of the list. "Rajkumar Hirani and Tigmanshu Dhulia are other filmmakers I wanted to work with, and I have worked with them. Even Irrfan has directed me for a TV show, I don't think there's much left for a wishlist," he added.
